My growth in the Lord

Born Again?

Are you born again? Keep reading and you will see why I say, "I have been born again."

I have heard some preachers say if you don't know exactly when you got saved, maybe you aren't a Christian.

I completely disagree. I was brought up in a Christian home and the churches didn't always explain exactly what you have to do as per the Scriptures. I was seven when my mother died and she always taught me to pray and believe the Bible. I took it all for granted until she died and because she died I didn't think God loved me. Even though I had a loving Christian Dad and had three loving brothers, I was not a happy camper. But in my young mind I felt the need to pray to God. I had always been taught about the Cross and Jesus. I had even gone to the alter to pray and believed in Jesus, was I saved? Had I truly become a Christian. Yes, in my child like faith I accepted Christ.

I do not know the day or the year and I certainly didn't know anything about the new birth that had taken place, but it had.  I think that is the way it is for a lot of people. They hear something or something happens, they  instinctively turn to the Lord and accept the Lord according to their knowledge.

There are many things could be said about changes that take place but the main thing is we will not be perfect, we will not live without sin; because the Bible says no one is without sin. We are constantly learning and praying for forgiviness and returning to the fellowship with Jesus.

You know there are sermons we hear and study we don't really HEAR, in the Word. I am one of those that completelly believe the whole Bible. If something doesn't make sense, keep listening, praying, studing the Bible and by truly believing it will be like the Bible says, A little here and a little there, precept upon precept and the Lord will open your eyes.

Therefore when reading the story about Nicodemus, He was also talking to me.

John 3:1  There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2  The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3  Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4  Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
5  Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6  That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7  Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

Jesus writes our names in the Book of Life. Every time you do something wrong He isn't going to erase it (blot out). It would get pretty messy.

At this point I do want to insert Revelation 22:19  And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Don't play around with changing the Bible
